Tummy Troubles II

5 days was WAY too long for a tummy ache. I am blogging this to let myself know that whatever I did to make this 5 day stomach hell happen, will never happen again. Even though I have no clue what made it happen in the first place. Spicy food, cold nights, stress, lack of nutrients, indigestion, too much salt, too little salt, acidity, little people having a disco party in my organs.......... ARGH!!!

It's safe to say that some things happen for the most nonexistent reasons.

Tummy Troubles

Does anyone know what to do with a lingering stomach cramp for 5 days?
Besides the doctors, stomach medicine, constant warmies, early sleeping, soft rice, no salt, bananas, ginger tea, pain medication, Vitamin C, LOTS of water, and Lamaze breathing exercises.

No, I'm not pregnant.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Especially with Philippines three days away.

Earthquakes and Stomach Pain

Last night, I had a stomach ache the same time as a 30 second, 5.0 earthquake in Iwate.

Am I cool or what?

No worries, we are fine.

Henry Brian

Our newest neighbor. He keeps our neighborhood clean and tidy. The only thing is... he's pretty huge, like silver dollar huge! But he keeps to himself and is a pretty chill neighbor. Ocassionally he tries to put his things on our property, like his web on our car, but now I think he knows his place. Hopefully he knows his place is OUTSIDE the house. So everyone, please meet Henry Brian (last name unknown)

One Year Anniversary

I had the realization that it really is something special to have a completely new event in your life. Something that just starts and you know that it will last until the day you die. This is true for birthdays, holidays, and relatives' special events. So today is the day that July 16th will forever be ingrained in my forehead as a special holiday. Although Ron and I didn't paint the town red (we prefer orange), we still were able to fill our day with quality time, special moments, and little things that make people want to throw up. So for those of you with strong stomachs, here are some examples of the Ron and Juni cornyness.

July seems so Lonely

Not that there was nothing going on. Simply a lack of chances to take pictures, thanks to my knack of getting to the event only to realize that I 1. Have no battery, 2. Have no memory card, or 3. Have no juice in the battery. But with a string of luck and a very smart and prepared husband, I was able to take a few pictures to commemorate the summer with a Japan Beach Day in Taneichi, sharing the Pacific Ocean. We also met up with our friend Lindsey who will be leaving shortly to go back to the real world of Los Angeles. This beach weekend turned out to be a little taste of home. Foreign people everywhere, hot sunny beach with zero humidity, and an all around good time.

Happy July!

NOODLE WATCH #1

To commemorate the glory of the summer months, we would like to show collections of the noodles that have come our way so that everyone can enjoy our delicious food with us. OK, it may cruel and unusual since you won't be able to taste it, but try to imagine the best tasting thing you have ever had in your life... then look at the noodles... There, isn't that better?

いただきます~~~~~

To start, here is the Ramen we had in Yokohama.

First, Tokyo Style Shoyu Ramen

Then, Tonkotsu Ramen from Kyushu. Slightly milder in oil, but rich with flavor.

Finally, a cold summer version of the Hakata Ramen. It felt like drinking a salad. If you look closely you can see a jelly star in the middle.

And last but not least...
