Kekkon Kinenbi

One Year Anniversary

I had the realization that it really is something special to have a completely new event in your life. Something that just starts and you know that it will last until the day you die. This is true for birthdays, holidays, and relatives' special events. So today is the day that July 16th will forever be ingrained in my forehead as a special holiday. Although Ron and I didn't paint the town red (we prefer orange), we still were able to fill our day with quality time, special moments, and little things that make people want to throw up. So for those of you with strong stomachs, here are some examples of the Ron and Juni cornyness.

さようなら 2007!

As I'm typing on a friend's computer in Tokyo, we've been trying to get the most out of our last day of the year. We've already gone to a building that has an indoor theme park filled with nearly 100 types each of gyoza, dessert, and ice cream. I think that weve accomplished that feat.

Thinking about this year, I think I can safely say with Ron that this has been our happiest and most fulfilling year. So much has happened and so many goals have been put in place so that we can have more accomplishments for the upcoming years. I dont think many people can say that they have completed a Teachers Program, finishing college, Graduated, Marriage, Honeymoon, Travel to Japan, and teaching careers in a high academic school and sucessful English School. I think we've done pretty well. I can proudly say that I'm leaving 2007 with very little regrets. Hopefully with this year, we can see more traveling, more personal growth, and a better hold on the demon language, Japanese.

みんな、よいお年を!
Everyone, Have a great year!

Some cheese with my whine.

Even if Ron and I have only been here for three months (wow, time goes by fast), the JET Program already wants to know if we are going to recontract for the next year. I didn't even have to think about it (I live in a great city, I have a fantastic job, I've made friends, and I have Ron)... OF COURSE I'M STAYING! That's always been in the plan.

Recently though, Ron and I have been thinking about what's going to happen when we finally pack up our bags and come back home. Our lives a perfect here. Besides the hole of not having family and friends here, living in Morioka is all we could imagine and then some. The JET Program has given us a cushy stepping stool from college life to adult life. We have the best of both worlds. However, once we do make the next step. We're still pretty unsure where that will take us or where we want to go.

My dad always said to "Work according to your lifestyle." Well I'm sure that the life that I want is what everyone in the universe wants (work at home, lots of travel, exuberant amounts of money), so we've been trying to figure out how to make that happen. I know lifestyles like that take a lot of work, I'm just trying to figure out what kind of hard work I have to do.
