Tadaima! We've arrived!

After waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting, we made it to Tokyo. I was fortunate enought to sit next to an interesting JET and talk (even if I wanted to sleep) and Ron got a whole row to himself. When I arrived it was really a whirlwind. It was really a good thing Ron wasn't around, it would be too difficult. Thankfully, we did meet up in the evening and we went to Kunino's house. I'm sure that no JET ate as good as we did in Kunino's home. Jetlag did creep in and we crashed at around 12. The next day for me was pretty dull with seminars and seminars although for lunch I did have beef that was made from edamame (pretty good actually). I kinda ditched the later seminars and met up with Ron at Kunino's. It was the first time I rode the train by myself. But YIPPEE I made it to Kunino's house. So now, I have tomorrows seminars and then explore Tokyo again with Ron and then we leave for Morioka in the morning. I will let you all know how that turns out. Give yourself 5 points for reading this!

Leaving on a jet plane

Tomorrow's the big day...

I can't believe that after all of this waiting, we are finally going to start living in Japan. It's like a dream. Ron and I are so excited and ready and although we will miss everyone, you can't imagine the great feeling on knowing that we are starting on this voyage. If you are checking out our site, kudos for you. Give yourself a pat on the back, it makes me feel good. I will try my hardest to keep this up to date and to keep everyone posted on our adventures. Please pray for our safe trip and that Ron and I can adapt well to Morioka.

Our Honeymoon Story

When we arrived to the Beach House, our first feelings were... Hunger! After not eating our delicious food, we were so hungry. So our first act as husband and wife was to order hamburgers at Hermosa Beach. The next couple of days were filled with laying around in the hotel, enjoying the beach view, and eating in the room. I never enjoyed being so lazy with Ron. Our outdoors was tandem biking down the coast and walking along the beach. My favorite time was at the last night. We got dressed up in our wedding attire, ordered some Italian food, made the balcony beautiful, and enjoyed a beautiful dinner together. Ron made it beautiful and we really enjoyed getting dressed up and making the night special. Although it wasn't long enough, it was a magical time. I really enjoyed every moment.

Our Wedding Story

Well, July 16th came and went and I never had such a wonderful day. Everything was relaxing and stressfree. I got up early, got make-up and hair done, quick lunch, and drove to La Venta. After waiting and waiting, we were ready for the ceremony. I always thought that I would be an emotional mess, but I think I was so overcome with happiness, I couldn't cry. Ron looked fantastic, the ceremony went flawlessly. I never saw Ron look so good. Everyone looked so supporting and loving. The weather was beautiful.

The reception was just as wonderful. The colors were fantastic and everything looked clean and simple with a lot of colors. When we came in we had our first dance. Ron really surprised me with his moves. Then we heard some beautiful specches made my maid of honor and our best man. Their speeches were perfect and really spoke from the heart. The rest of the evening was filled with visiting everyone, dancing, dancing, and dancing, and beautiful speeches from our friend David and speeches from Jon and Ben. I have never heard such beautiful things as what my brothers spoke of. I was really thrilled with the way everything turned out. It was all perfect. We stayed until the very end just talking to people. Our only regret was not being able to eat our delicious food, but after hearing all the scary stories of a wedding, I am very happy to say that ours was flawless and beautiful. I couldn't have asked for more.

The start of the Wedding weekend

OK... So finally it is now crunch time. After all the months of planning and stressing (mom) and getting pimples (me), it is now countdown until the wedding. Today is Thursday and it's the day where everyone comes in. I pick up Allison (maid of honor), my future in laws, and my relatives from the Philippines. Poor Ron is in Yosemite and misses all the the fun (mild sarcasm). Friday is already the rehersal, saturday is the bachelorette party, sunday is the day to do last minute things, and monday is the BIG day. I think we are all ready for it. I actually can't wait for Monday for the purpose of everyone being done and stressfree. I have no doubts though that it will be a beautiful wedding.

And when all that fun is done I can go on to the next stress of Japan.

Happy birthday to me

On my birthday, we went to the place where all inhibitions are pushed aside, where pride is placed on the back benches, and where embarassment is laughed at... My birthday was at MEDIEVAL TIMES!!! A place where it feels good to be a child and an adult; a child to unbashfully cheer for your knight and an adult for being able to cheer with... margaritas! A place where you know your knight will lose, but you just don't care. A place to get down and dirty. That was a great way to welcome the big 24!
